Morning Workshops: 10 am to 1 pm
 
Handspinning on a Drop Spindle with Katie Reimers
Learn the basics of spinning using hand-carded wool from Knox Farm Flock and a simple top-whorl spindle. You will learn to draft, spin and ply using the Andean Technique. And lots of time to practice, practice, practice!
 
Experience Level: Beginner: Ages 9 & up

Basket Weaving with Kathleen J. Currie
Master Roycroft Artisan Kathleen Currie provides a kit and instruction to complete a Make and Take basket.
 
Experience Level: All levels: Ages 10 & up
Bring: scissors.

Wool Felt Flower Pins with Ina Randall
Using recycled and felted sweater pieces, you can design and assemble your own wool flower pins.

Learn to crochet using the basic crochet steps to complete a small project. Let's have fun wih the art of crochet.

Afternoon Workshops: 2pm to 5 pm

 

Make a Witch Doll with Jackie Hooper of the Niagara Region Interpretive Office/NYS Parks

Jackie will give each participant a hand-made 36" muslin doll. Then the fun begins! Learn to embellish using embroidery and sewing techniques. The Witch will need you to design her complete costume--make her scary or make her friendly. Let your imagination take over.

Spider Web Evening Scarf with Erin Kosich of Embraceable Ewe

Knit up a dazzling scarf embellished with beads and sequins.

 

Experience level: Beginning knitters and up

Make a Broom with Karen Koch

Use your hands, feet and a stick wound with twine to create a functional Appalachian broom.

One Pot Painting with Mary Jo LaClair and Nancy Tepas

Create a one-of-a-kind silk scarf. Working with one container of dye, you will learn how to paint a scarf as well as mixing colors to change from one color to another.
